Volunteer Events in Escondido

On September 17, the Escondido Shines Cleanup project took place at Dixon Lake. The Rotary Club of Escondido, firefighters from Fire Station #7 (North Ash), and a large group of Escondido Fire Explorers helped clean and repair two trails while also cleaning up litter around the entire park. Great job!

On September 18, 21 community volunteers participated in the City's monthly volunteer fire hydrant painting event. The volunteers painted 64 hydrants and several leaking hydrants were reported to the Utilities Department for repair. The event took place in the southeast end of Escondido on Beethoven Drive, Las Palmas Avenue, Del Lago Boulevard, and Sierra Linda Drive. It was such a success that many participants said that they would be happy to return next month! The fire hydrant painting events are held one Saturday each month. For more information and to sign up visit https://volunteer.escondido.org/#upcoming . Thank you volunteers!
