Happy Labor Day, Escondido. City facilities will be closed on Monday, September 5 in observance of the holiday. Emergency services are always available.

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for all of San Diego County, through Sunday, September 4. With the extremely hot weather in our forecast, the City of Escondido reminds the public that the following facilities have been designated as Cool Zones:

Save The Date  Escondido Grape Day Festival

One of Escondido's oldest events, the Grape Day Festival, returns on Saturday, September 10, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The festival will take place in Grape Day Park and will have fun activities for the whole family. Learn more at www.grapedayfest.com

Join the Recycling Division at the Escondido Community Garden from 8:30 to 10 a.m. for a free composting workshop that will cover backyard composting and vermicomposting (worms).
